about

Friends, I’m not some hot shot theology emeritus but I can tell you just the same—no culture in the world venerates a divine text that brooks profanity. That’s just plain fact.

And so you might pause to imagine the certain pang I—a man of faith since I was a boy—feel bracing to tell you Extra Pacific’s A SOUND OF MY OWN is a kind of spiritual document. Because they sure do curse a streak.

You ever seen a Pentecostal snake handling service? Or stared into a good clear night sky, seen all those stars and just thought, “Huh?” Not so hard to find it in a moment like that.

Now try such a thing in the haystack of everyday human come-and-go. Needless to say you’ll encounter some tart language in that bustle, earbuds or not.

But like a good book, the language on A SOUND OF MY OWN goes beyond face value alone.

It might be Glaciers or Fuego light traveling or just a sample talking, but it’s the words that reel you back in just at those very moments you might get lost for good in the lullabye swirl of sweet music.

Cuz A SOUND OF MY OWN sure feels like a constellation, and Extra Pacific would hate to have you be astronauts out there without an umbilical.

Safe travels.
